It's That Time of Year...

...when the sky fills with Bald Eagles and Swans. The top photo shows a Bald Eagle and the bottom photo three Tundra Swans.

Wish me Luck...

I submitted the following Page to a digital scrap contest. I think I'll really stop with the glitter after this...Then again, who knows...   :)

Great Horned Owl Page

We occasionally have owls around our property but this one was much easier to capture as it was at the Country Garden Gardening Center with a handler.

One more Christmas Page

I really went overboard in this LO with the gold glitter...Not really my style but it seemed to suit the overall feel of this page. I used the emboss style on the background paper and rather liked how that came out.

Blending Modes

I played around with the blending modes in Photoshop and this is the result.  This layout was part of a course I am following. I have changed the page so much that by the time I was done with it, the title didn't make much sense anymore but hey, who's watching?  :)

Depth of Field

This image was taken with a portrait lens with the aperture set to F1.4  Note the extremely shallow depth of field this image demostrates!

Chestnut-backed Chickadee

I always thought this was a very common bird around here but recently found out it is not. As we live on a mountain-side we have them year-round but many people never see them.

BC Birding

Hannah

I had the privilege to photograph this girl at a recent birthday party.  I told you, I LOVE black and white!

New Camera..Tell me what you think...

I detest using flash as it tends to flatten texture and depth in a photo. I know this can be overcome by using fancy, complicated off-camera speedlights but that is a different ball game altogether. Due to it's high ISO, this camera allows me to use only available light, and I think this is the way I want to go with my photography.

And another one...
