I scrapped a visitor...

This little bear was feasting on our apples and mother bear was very close by. They were rather shy, unlike the bear we had nearly in our house last year. When I started to take pictures the click of the shutter made them take off.   (At least I had my pictures!)

That bug in the previous post is really the most fascinating creature when seen up close. It's body is only about 5mm at the most and yet just look at all that detail.

Lani and Ethan

This is a picture I made in May 2010. I dug it up so Lani could show it to Ethan in order to familiarise him with what might soon be her, "new look"!

A cropped photo which was shown full size in a previous post. Since I don't really care for cropping, (awful waste of valuable pixels,) I think I am going to experiment using my tele-lens for portraits a few times, just to see how they come out. Using the tele-lens instead of the 85mm portrait lens might be more comfortable for the subject since he/she doesn't have the lens smack in front of his/her face. Many of the pros use a long lens for portraits so I'm sure there's something to be said for that.

Yes, sepia CAN be beautiful!

Sepia often looks incredibly boring but, if the levels are adjusted properly I think it can actually be very beautiful. I would love to have your opinion on sepia photographs. Have you ever seen one that you really liked or are you always left wishing you could see the original?
