Kayden In His Element

This picture was made last summer. When Kayden would visit he would immediately jump into our (unplanted) flowerbed with his backhoes and considered it to be his sandbox. We loved to see him have such fun and didn't have the heart to plant flowers in it until near the end of the summer.  Maybe this year we really should get that sandbox we have been talking about!

Snow Brings the Birds

We have had Varied Thrushes around for a while but never as many as the last couple of days! This guy heard the shutter of my camera and had to check out that noise!

There are several Northern Flickers hanging around our place, and this one is a regular at the suet feeder.

The weather man got it right and we did get a lot of snow overnight! (It turns out we had a record-breaking snowfall. More snow in a 12-hour period than was ever recorded before!)

I had to see the Cardiologist in Vancouver today and on the way back stopped in at IKEA. To my surprise they were selling the most beautiful Orchids! Of course, I couldn't resist. 

Free Font for Font Junkies (like me)

For those of you that use Photoshop, you may want to download this beautiful grungy-looking font. It totally suits a "winterish" layout! Just google the font name, "Beyond Wonderland," and it will come up. We have a heavy snowfall warning in effect in this area and we may be able to make good use of this font on our, "snow pages," that will undoubtedly follow! The best part of it? It's FREE!
