Retouching Portraits

I'm following an advanced portrait retouching course and here are the results of the first lesson. It literally took several hours to retouch this portrait and it is all done on seperate layers. The Photoshop tools that are used are the clone tool, the healing brushes and the selection tools. I am amazed at the results, which are actually far better than when using expensive retouching programs. What I really like is that the texture of the skin is preserved, preventing the "plastic" look which is frequently the result of other methods.
